Who he is

Marco Camisani Calzolari is a government-appointed expert at the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency, where he is strategic advisor to the Director General on cyber risk, public trust and institutional communication. He is also a government-appointed expert at the Department for Digital Transformation, Office of the Italian Prime Minister, on the communication of national digital policy, digital identity and risk prevention.

He is one of the 13 experts on the Committee for the update of Italy’s National AI Strategy 2026-2028, established by prime ministerial decree. He served on the previous committee, the one that defined Italy’s AI governance framework. He is one of the authors of the European Commission’s General-Purpose AI Code of Practice, with a focus on systemic risk, governance and public communication.

He works as strategic advisor to public leadership and to CEOs on high-impact decisions: where to invest, what it means in reputational terms, what happens when a technology choice goes wrong.

He has delivered over 500 keynotes to governments, institutions and companies. At the House of Lords in the UK Parliament on artificial intelligence and democracy, at the United Nations on AI risks for minorities, at the Italian Chamber of Deputies with a Lectio Magistralis.
